Sunday rest....

My legs are sore from yesterday's run... it was my slow long distance run... I did 8km and felt great when I got home... but then we went to Ikea and Vaugh Mills shopping until 6:30pm... and today I am not sure if my legs are sore from the run or from 8 hours of shoping! lol :)
Well... in two weeks I will be running the Alliston Summer Solstice Run 11km!
I am looking forward to it! Come and join me on the run!

Busy Girls Week-End!

Well Ian was gone fishing with the boys this week-end... his yearly boys week-end!
Soooo Amelia and I had a girls week-end!
We were really busy as Amelia was inspired by last Sundays 5km run in Newmarket she wanted to start running with me and we went out around the block and did 3 km --- but with a stop at the corner store to buy a banana Popsicle!
Then she had the idea of doing a Lemonade Stand and raise money!
So today the weather was beautiful and she was determined and we were set up by 11am until 2pm and sold $35 worth of Lemonade!
Grandma knitted some stuffed animals to "sell" for a donation of $15 and we sold one of them... but the little girl who bought it only had $10 so Amelia said she would pay the difference out of her own pocket since she really wanted the little girl to have it! So happy to see that my daughter is a generous soul!
AND tonight!!!! A MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENT!
I went out after dinner and once the "stinky fishy" laundry was done out for my weekly long run and managed to do 7km in 56 min!!! A record distance for me! I am just soooo happy!
I feel great! Thank you for you donations!
Keep them coming!

Feeling Emotional :( :)

I am feeling very emotional tonight... maybe it`s PMS or maybe it`s the fact that I am touched that my friends and family are sponsoring me! At first I thought how I am going to be able to run this marathon... but truly it`s all the nice words of encouragement I am getting from all those I love that keeps me so motivated! Thank you for believing in me!

New Orthotics... Yep! I need them too!

Well... it was time to update my orthotics! Yep! Even a foot doctor does not have perfect feet and needs the help!  The cast was sent to the lab... the biomechanical assessment and gait analysis done.... and my design???  I am going to experience on my own feet this great design that I have used several times on Ultramarathoners!

Runner’s Mould
Black crepe shell to sulcus, with a Thermocork® LA filler to mets.  1/16” PPT® from heel to toe.  Extrinsic rearfoot posting is ground into the shell.  This device is designed as a light weight, shock absorbing competition device for high level runners

If you are a runner with some foot problems don't hesitate to some and see us at http://www.simcoefootclinic.ca/ !

Other reasons for my running.....

Why did I choose the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society?

1st In Honour of my Mother!  My mom Jocelyne Brisson has Lymphoma and was diagnosed 3+ years ago and I am doing it in Her Honour!

2nd I run in her Memory Zia Anna-Maria Mydad Ermanno gave his bone marrow to his sister, my aunt Anna-Maria,  to help her treat her leukemia, she was in remission for over 5 years but unfortunately her blood cancer returned and she passed away....

3rd I will be 40 soon and I wanted to do something out of my comfort zone!

4th I have been toying with the idea of running for a while now after years....many of the patients are runers and they have inspired me with their stories!
5th be more physically active!

6th have fun while fundraising for a great cause and help find a cure!
